Frequently asked questions
Is Filtsap a manufacturer or a trader?
Filtsap Filtration is a manufacturer. Cartridges and bags are made in our own unit at CTM, Ahmedabad, and we have been registered under GST (24BFVPC6209L1Z5) since 2018.
Do you deliver outside Gujarat?
Yes. We dispatch pan-India by transport and courier, and export with IEC BFVPC6209L.
What payment terms do you offer?
For new customers, payment is in advance by bank transfer or UPI. Regular B2B buyers can discuss credit terms.
Can you match my existing filter?
Yes. WhatsApp us a photo with the length, diameter and micron, or send a sample, and we will supply an equivalent or better cartridge.
What micron PP spun cartridge should I use before RO?
Use a 5 micron cartridge for most RO plants. If the feed water has high turbidity, put a 10 or 20 micron cartridge first and a 5 micron after it to protect the membranes.
Wound or spun — which is better?
Wound cartridges are stronger and handle higher flow and pressure, so they suit industrial liquids and oils. Spun cartridges cost less and give finer, more consistent filtration for water. Our spun vs wound guide compares them in detail.
Is a 0.22 micron pleated cartridge sterile-grade?
A 0.22 µm PP pleated cartridge removes bacteria-sized particles for clarification and bioburden reduction. If you need validated sterile filtration, ask us for an integrity-tested PES or PTFE membrane cartridge.
Will a jumbo cartridge fit my standard housing?
No. Jumbo cartridges need a 4.5" (Big Blue) housing. We supply matching 10" and 20" jumbo housings.
How long does a carbon cartridge last?
A carbon cartridge usually lasts 3–6 months on municipal water. Replace it sooner if taste or odour returns, or if chlorine shows up in the outlet water.
Which housing fits a 20" jumbo cartridge?
Our 20" × 4" virgin PP housing (Big Blue type) fits it, with a 1" or 1.5" port.
Can you make a custom multi-cartridge housing?
Yes. Send us your flow rate, operating pressure, liquid, micron and connection size, and we will design the number of cartridges and the shell size.
Which filter bag size do I need?
Size #2 (7" × 32") is the most common industrial bag and fits standard single-bag housings. Our bag filter guide has a full sizing chart.
Does the bag filter assembly come ready to install?
Yes. The kit includes the housing, a 5 micron PP bag, a pressure gauge, a spanner and plastic mounting parts.
Do you offer private labelling?
Yes. We can supply cartridges in your brand's box or shrink wrap. Talk to us about MOQ for custom printing.
Is 1 micron better than 5 micron?
It is finer, but not always better. A 1 micron filter clogs much faster on dirty water. Use 5 micron for RO pre-filtration and keep 1 micron for polishing after a coarser stage.
What micron removes bacteria?
Most bacteria are 0.2–2 µm, so you need a 0.22 µm absolute-rated membrane. A 1 or 5 micron sediment cartridge does not remove bacteria.
Can I put a pleated cartridge in my existing housing?
Yes, if the length and end type match (for example a 20" DOE cartridge with 62–70 mm OD). Send us your housing details to confirm.
How often should I change a filter bag?
Change it when the differential pressure reaches 1–1.5 bar (15–22 psi). Letting it climb higher can burst the bag.
Why does my cartridge clog in a few days?
Usually the micron is too fine for the water, or there is no coarser stage before it. Add a 20–25 µm wound or bag pre-filter in front of it.
